Haaland to Perisic: Top Five New Faces to Watch Out for in PL

It’s been an intriguing transfer window so far for the Premier League as the English league continues to attract the very best players of the world. Top stars like Erling Haaland and Ivan Perisic have made their way to the United Kingdom while at the same time upcoming ones in Darwin Nunez and Brenden Aaronson have also found offers that were too good to let go.

In this piece, we’ve narrowed down five new players who will be plying their trade in the Premier League for the very first time in the 2022-23 season.

ERLING HAALAND (Manchester City)

Manchester City have got hold of one of the most exciting young players in the world, Erling Haaland. The striker grew up as a City fan, a club his father used to represent. He now has the chance to take the number nine legacy forward at the Etihad Stadium something City fans can be pretty excited about.

DARWIN NUNEZ (Liverpool)

Liverpool have gone out and broken the bank for the Uruguayan striker, Darwin Nunez from Benfica. The Anfield faithful have already had a glimpse of Nunez last season when he scored twice in the Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool. With the departure of Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich, expectations will be high from Nunez who will have to hit the ground running immediately for the Reds.

DIEGO CARLOS (Aston Villa)

Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa are attracting some top players in Europe and one such addition is the signing of Diego Carlos from Sevilla. The 29-year-old Brazilian centre-back had been on the radar of some of the top European teams but Villa have done well to secure this signing. We’ve seen Gerrard’s team concede too many sloppy goals in the previous season and Diego will be hoping to bring some solidity at the back.

BRENDEN AARONSON (Leeds United)

Leeds United under coach Jesse Marsch were always going to make some left-field signings this window and one such player is Brenden Aaronson. The young attacking midfielder has been signed from RB Salzburg, a club Marsch is well versed with. The US international is an exciting young player who could take some time to get used to the physical demand of the Premier League but surely will be a top player in the future.

IVAN PERISIC (Tottenham Hotspur)

A serial winner, Ivan Perisic has been reunited with his former coach, Antonio Conte at Tottenham. He brings the winning attitude that the club desires and his Champions League winning experience would be key for Spurs this season. It’ll be interesting to see whether Conte deploys him as a wing-back, a position Perisic mastered under the Italian in the Serie A with Inter Milan.
