Premier League Preview: Top Predictions For Man U vs Chelsea

Man U vs Chelsea will definitely be the match of Premier League’s game week six this weekend, as both the giants look to correct their erratic form. With the emergence of Liverpool and Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have seen their dominance mellow down over the past few seasons.

However, with both the teams investing heavily on the squad in the summer transfer window, this could well be one of the most star-studded Man U vs Chelsea encounters in recent history. The English giants have faced 187 times so far, with Manchester United leading the head-to-head with 81 wins. Chelsea, however, have been the stronger side of late and have pulled off 55 wins of their own.

MANCHESTER UNITED

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping his men draw confidence from the 4-1 thumping of Newcastle United in the Premier League and a 2-1 away win against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League. However, United face an injury crisis with Phil Jones and Eric Bailly sidelined while Anthony Martial serves a suspension. Apart from that, Solskjaer is also sweating to have Mason Greenwood, Jesse Lingard and Harry Maguire fit for the clash. United fans, though, will be hoping to see star signing Edinson Cavani making his club debut.

CHELSEA

Chelsea have been going through a frustrating patch of results of late, with their latest one in Premier League being a 3-3 draw against Southampton. La Liga side Sevilla also held Chelsea to a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge in the UEFA Champions League, which makes it just one win for Chelsea in their last five matches. However, the Blues don’t have the injury crisis that United face with their only player sidelined is midfielder Billy Gilmour.

PREDICTED XI

Manchester United (4-2-3-1): David de Gea, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Fred, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Daniel James, Anthony Martial, Edinson Cavani

Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Edouard Mendy, Recce James, Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Christian Pulisic, Kail Havertz, Mason Mount, Timo Werner
