Premier League returns to game week seven with the mouth-watering Man U vs Arsenal clash standing tall over others. Both the sides have had mixed starts to their domestic campaigns with some shocking results forcing tactical changes early on. However, with neither pre-season matches nor transfer plans going their way, the former English giants are expected to get only stronger with every passing game.
The crunch clash on Sunday will be the 233rd time that the two sides clash in English football with Manchester United looking to register their 100th victory over Arsenal in all competitions. Arsenal have won 84 of their clashes against the Red Devils, drawing 49 others.
Manchester United
Since Manchester United’s 1-6 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at home, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has managed to turn things around following the international break. Manchester have since gone on an unbeaten streak with wins coming against Newcastle United, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig and a draw against Chelsea. Against Arsenal, Solsjkaer will be missing the services of striker Anthony Martial, who is serving the third game of his three-game ban, while new signing Alex Telles remains unavailable after testing positive for coronavirus.
Arsenal
Mikel Arteta has started his campaign in an erratic manner as well. While Arsenal have managed to get the better of Fulham, West Ham United and Sheffield United in the league, they have gone down against Manchester City, Liverpool and Leicester City. Away from the league, Arsenal have defeated both Liverpool and Leicester in the EFL Cup and remain unbeaten in their Europa League campaign as well. On the injury front, while Arsenal are likely to be without veteran defender David Luiz, the Gunners will welcome Willian back from a slight niggle with Saka shaking off his injury as well.
Predicted XI
Arsenal XI (3-4-3): Bernd Leno; Shkodran Mustafi, Gabriel Magalhães, Kieran Tierney; Hector Bellerin, Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka, Bukayo Saka; Willian, Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang
Manchester United (4-3-1-2): David De Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Fred, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba; Bruno Fernandes; Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford
