A Look at the Hero ISL 2021-22 Fixture List

The upcoming Hero ISL 2021-22 season’s fixture list was announced on Monday, September 13 with the tournament heading back to Goa and is set to kick off from November 19. So far the Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) have released the fixtures for the first 11 rounds of the competition till January 9, to be precise. The remainder of the fixture list would be announced in December.

For the second consecutive season, the Hero Indian Super League would be played behind closed doors in three stadiums in Goa; Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Vasco’s Tilak Maidan and GMC Stadium in Bambolim.

The season will kick off with a marquee clash between last year’s runners up ATK Mohun Bagan and the powerhouse from down south, Kerala Blasters. Reigning champions, Mumbai City FC would begin their campaign on November 22 against their bitter rivals FC Goa. The fans would have to wait till November 27 for the first taste of the Kolkata Derby of the new season between ATK Mohun Bagan and SC East Bengal.

The league has also introduced a late kick-off concept with matches starting at 9:30 PM IST for only the double-header Saturdays. All the other matches would commence on the regular 7:30 PM IST schedule.

It’s been a couple of big days for India’s premier league as it is all set to feature in the upcoming EA Sports FIFA 22 game and have now confirmed the start date for the Hero ISL 2021-22 season.

The fans, unfortunately, won’t be able to catch the action live from the stadiums due to the ongoing pandemic in the country. They would be dearly missed at the venues but each fan group is eager for the season to kick off so that they could watch their favourite players in action on their television screens.


The 2021-22 season of the Hero ISL would be live and exclusive in India on the Star network while the fans can also catch the live action on the streaming website Disney+ Hotstar and JioTV application.
